BMW R80GS - Classic Adventure Bike

I have been asked by a few people for video of the BMW R80GS I have for sale and so here are a few made this morning.
Please note that the first video is a cold start and the bike has not been run for a few weeks - I think you will be impressed - the new battery certainly does its job!
This has to be one of the prettiest models of the GS - reliable, simple and robust - true German Engineering - designed to get you where you need to be with the least effort and as its the early model none of the troublesome electronics and risks associated with them.

A very nice BMW R80GS Adventure Trail Bike in superb overall condition. I bought this to add to my collection with the intention of doing a trip on it but circumstances have changed and regretfully it is now for sale. The bike is in superb condition and ready for that trip or for long and reliable service for years to come.
Originally from Germany this 1990 bike was imported officially in 2008 and given a UK registration plate. I have all the documentation for this including MOTs etc. The last MOT shows the mileage as 888 Miles (It has done about 1100 Miles now) on a replacement UK specification BMW Speedo - the previous MOT (Jan 2012) shows 46836 Kms so this is a very low mileage example and the sweetness of the engine shows this.
Note the speedo has been changed now for a MPH one and reads circa 1100 miles.
The previous owner has spent a good deal of time and money on this bike.
A new MOT will be put on this bike before collection – I have total confidence in it passing without any advisories.
One of the best examples I have seen and a very pretty and useable bike to own.

- The engine has been fully checked over and set up on a rolling road - it ticks over like a watch (I can send a video if you supply an email address) and it runs beautifully
- New Wheel Rims with Stainless spokes

- The best colour scheme - Black with Yellow - but with the black seat not the dirty yellow one often seen
- UK MPH Speedo and Headlight
- Touratech Alloy Footpegs and brake pedal

- Excellent Tyres (near new) with lots of wear left - Metzler Tourance
- Extra clocks - Time Clock and Rev Counter
- As it was originally a German Bike it benefits from the German Spec. kick start as well as electric start - very rare and unusual and a great talking point (see photo)
- Handlebar Pad
- New Handlebar Mirrors
- New battery fitted for this sale – the existing one went flat over the winter and did not recharge so a brand new one fitted.
- Cheap to insure - Modern Classic Insurance
If you know what you are looking at you will appreciate that these do not come in this condition often and when they do they attract high prices.
It is a very useable near classic bike, eligible for the Vintage Motorcycle Club runs in just a couple of years as well as providing a simpler more useable BMW GS experience - it handles very well and its 800cc provides ample power for a touring run. With no complex electrics and fuel injection this is a bike that can be maintained cheaply and serviced almost anywhere. The 800cc engine is considered the smoothest of these engines.
An appreciating classic - this bike should not depreciate in value if looked after - I wish I had a bit more room to just lay it up and keep it – I don’t and it is a shame to not use it (I have other motorbikes) so perhaps it is better that someone else has the pleasure of owning this bike.LINK TO VIDEO BLOG - http://angelo-bmwr80gs.blogspot.co.uk/
